In a previous post, I gave a more stately answer about why I’m starting Miter. But let’s be honest - this is also why we're starting Miter.
Many years ago, my VP of Marketing had this classic Despair, Inc. poster up in her office. I always thought it was a pretty baller move. It was her way of saying “it doesn’t have to be this way”.
Everyone has been in that meeting. Many of us, multiple times per week. Meetings where you feel the grains of sand trickling out of the hour glass of your life. Meetings where each new sentence seems to subtract from the overall achievements of humanity. Meetings where the heat death of the universe simultaneously seems both a blink of an eye and an eternity away.
It doesn’t have to be this way.
Nothing is more invigorating than a meeting that rounds up the key stakeholders for a challenging problem, teases out their best ideas, stuns the attendees with a breakthrough synthesis, and then magically wraps up early.
Think that’s an impossibility? We don’t.
We’re inviting you along on this journey because we firmly believe that there’s a brighter future. We know that there are meetings out there that makes us all smarter. The next time you’re in a meeting it most definitely not making you smarter just remember - it doesn’t have to be this way.
